About this collection
Professor Craig E. Lunte, who sadly passed away on April 13, 2015 at the age of 57, was a leader in the field of bioanalytical chemistry and a pioneer in the use of microdialysis sampling for drug metabolism studies. During his career, he developed many novel separation and detection methods for the analysis of microdialysis and other biological samples. He also developed several novel electrochemical detectors for liquid chromatography and electrophoresis and was an active member of the separations community as well. Whether in front of a classroom full of eager minds or in the laboratory providing hands-on instruction to curious students, Craig never missed an opportunity to share his wealth of knowledge.
In this tribute to Craig, we have put together a collection of papers invited from his peers, colleagues, and friends and have published it in Analyst and Analytical Methods. Together, these papers cover the fields of bioanalytical chemistry, microseparations, sampling, electrochemistry, pharmacokinetics, and mass spectrometry. We hope that this collection will be a fitting memorial to an inspiring teacher and remarkable chemist.
