Photo-functionalized metal–organic frameworks for anti-counterfeiting applications

Abstract

Photo-functionalized metal–organic frameworks (PMOFs) have attracted extensive attention recently because of their intrinsic structures and rich fluorescent components, showing unique advantages and broad application prospects in optical anti-counterfeiting. This review introduces the latest progress of PMOFs for different levels of anti-counterfeiting applications. The construction strategies of PMOFs are summarized, and the different levels of optical anti-counterfeiting based on PMOFs under various stimulation modes are discussed. In addition, we briefly discuss the existing challenges and prospects of PMOFs in anti-counterfeiting applications. It is hoped that this review will provide new insights and guidance for optical anti-counterfeiting.
