Selenylated indoles: synthesis, effects on lipid membrane properties and DNA cleavage

Abstract

In this report, we evaluated the effects of selenylated indoles (3a–d) on lipid membranes and their capacity to interact with DNA. These selenylated indoles increased the motion rate of the polar region of lipids and compounds 3b–d ordered the non-polar region. The DNA cleavage ability was observed only for 3c.
