2D/2D nitrogen-doped graphitic carbon nitride/cobalt sulfide nanostructures for fast photodegradation of methylene blue dye and real industrial sewage effluents

Nitrogen-doped g-C3N4/CoS nanocomposites have been synthesized using a facile polycondensation-hydrothermal method and showed improved photocatalytic activity for the degradation of MB dye and industrial real samples with good photostability.

Aqueous ibuprofen sorption by using activated walnut shell biochar: process optimization and cost estimation

Ibuprofen, a widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, anti-pyritic and analgesic, occurs in the aquatic systems of 47 countries. It was removed (∼70 mg g−1 Langmuir and ∼30 mg g−1 at 7.5 mg L−1 by column uptake) at <40% of activated carbon’s cost.

Wastewater depollution of textile dyes and antibiotics using unmodified and copper oxide/zinc oxide nanofunctionalised graphene oxide materials

GO, CuO-rGO and ZnO-rGO were tested for their ability to remove textile dyes (R-6G, MG) and antibiotics (AMOX, TC) as wastewater depollution materials. Although GO was most effective for the cationic dyes, CuO-rGO efficiently removed anionic antibiotics.
