Synthesis of a new ATN-type zeolitic imidazolate framework through cooperative effects of N,N-dipropylformamide and n-butylamine

Abstract

A new zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) was prepared using the cooperative effects of N,N-dipropylformamide and n-butylamine. ATN-[Zn(Im)2] is the first known example of a ZIF exhibiting a zeolitic ATN topology, which shows the flexible behavior of the framework. In addition, a known porous ZIF with a nog topology was obtained when using n-butylamine as the sole solvent, which suggests that a single organic amine can act as a template molecule for the synthesis of porous ZIFs.
