Vapor adsorption experiments as a characterization tool for layered catalysts

Abstract

The total available volume of the layered solids Na- and H-[Al]-magadiite and H-[Al]-RUB-18 were studied using ethanol and pentane adsorption. The interlamellar space of these materials is swellable, making it possible to adsorb molecules between the layers. Such characteristics make them good adsorbents, an important feature for heterogeneous catalysis applications.
