Metal and additive-free synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted oxazoles via thiourea-mediated cyclization reaction

Abstract

A novel, additive-free method has been developed for the synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted oxazoles through thiourea-mediated cyclization of substituted 2-oxo-2-phenylethyl acetates. This approach employs readily accessible thiourea and α-acyloxy ketones under mild conditions with straightforward operation, providing a reliable and versatile route to diverse substituted oxazoles.
