Triplex formation-mediated fluorescence sensing of single bulge nucleotide-containing double-stranded RNAs using thiazole orange base surrogate-carrying PNAs

Abstract

Fluorescence sensing of single bulge-containing double-stranded RNAs was achieved using a triplex forming peptide nucleic acid (PNA) carrying a thiazole orange (TO) base surrogate, where the TO base surrogate facing the bulged nucleotide exhibited a light-up response through triplex formation between the PNA sequence and target purine tracts in dsRNA.
