Abstract

p-Nitroaniline molecules were intercalated between the layers of kaolinite, and an acentric arrangement of p-nitroaniline induced by the asymmteric environment of the interlayer region was accomplished.

  19. Intercalation of nitrobenzene and aniline was performed by stirring wet kaolinite-methanol intercalation compounds in those liquids at room temperature for 3 days.

  22. The SHG properties were measured with incident light of λ= 1.064 mm from a Nd:YAG laser; the intensity of the transmitted second harmonic wave of λ= 0.532 mm was detected. Samples were ground to pass through a 100 mesh sieve and packed on a glass slide to the thickness of 0.15 mm.
