Heterometallic Ru–Ir hydride carbonyl clusters were synthesized and tested as catalyst precursors for hydrogenation of 4-fluoroacetophenone and trans-cinnamaldehyde.
One conformer of 4-fluoroacetophenone and two isomers of 4-fluoroacetophenone-H2O were observed. Fluorination effects on geometry, internal rotation of methyl group, and non-covalent interactions were analyzed.
Reaction of complex [TpMe2Ir(η4-CH2
C(Me)C(Me)
C2)] (1) with a series of aromatic ketones at 130 °C renders, by means of a selective ortho-CH activation, Ir(III)-metallacycles 2–5, which display an Ir–H bond.
Twelve N-heterocycle chalcones were synthesized, characterized, and screened. Benzo[d][1,2,3]triazolyl chalcones showed notable antidepressant activity. Docking studies revealed strong binding affinity.
Two inclusion complexes of β-cyclodextrin with a viologen derivative display multistimuli-responsive chromic behaviors and photomodulable fluorescence, which endows them with various applications.
