Facile synthesis of impurity-free iron single atom catalysts for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction and active-site identification

Abstract

Nitrogen-doped carbon supported iron single atom catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) were successfully fabricated by a precursor-dilution strategy. Benefiting from the well-designed synthetic route, the as-obtained catalysts are free from impurities, which obviously facilitates mechanistic investigation and active-site identification.
