Electron-ion coupling enables ionic hydrogel with high thermopower for low-grade heat harvest and sensitive fire warning

We developed triple-network ionic hydrogel APSG via electron-ion synergy. High strength (1.49 MPa), 4.25 mV/K Seebeck coefficient, outputs 2.5 V (ΔT = 20 K), exceptional flame retardancy (LOI = 42.3%) & 1.7 s fire warning response.

Percolation-enabled long-range ion transport to achieve conductivity leap in PVDF-based electrolytes

A two-order-of-magnitude conductivity leap emerges in PVDF electrolytes at a critical solvent content of ∼7 wt%. This leap is driven by a shift from local ion hopping to long-range, continuous transport via a percolation network.

High-thermopower ionic thermoelectric hydrogels for low-grade heat harvesting and intelligent fire protection

An ionic thermoelectric hydrogel (HIG) for heat harvesting and fire protection was prepared. NaCl modulation enabled p–n conversion and p–n junction exhibited a much higher thermopower. HIG showed good potential for applications in supercapacitors.
