Supporting ultrathin “fish scale-like” BiOBr nanosheets on Bi6Mo2O15 sub-microwires for boosting photocatalytic performance

Abstract

Ultrathin “fish scale-like” bismuth oxybromide (BiOBr) nanosheets were grown on the surfaces of bismuth molybdate (Bi6Mo2O15) sub-microwires to obtain a BiOBr/Bi6Mo2O15 edge-on heterojunction. The vertical growth of BiOBr nanosheets expedited electron transport and offered large interfacial contact areas. Benefiting from these structural and compositional virtues, the optimized BiOBr/Bi6Mo2O15 heterojunction exhibited outstanding performance for tetracycline removal.
