Research progress of Co-based MOFs and their derivatives materials in oxygen evolution reactions
Abstract
The energy consumption for hydrogen production through electrocatalytic decomposition is mainly constrained by the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process. Cobalt-based metal-organic frameworks (Co-based MOFs) materials are a type of crystalline porous materials formed by the self-assembly of cobalt ions and organic ligands through coordination bonds. Due to its structural diversity and functional adjustability, it shows great application potential in the OER field. This paper systematically reviews the research progress of Co-based MOFs materials with different dimensional structures and their derivative materials in OER. The main challenges and solutions faced by cobalt-based MOFs and their derivative materials in OER applications were deeply discussed. The existing problems were summarized, the future development directions were prospected, and feasible research ideas were proposed.
