Plasmon-induced charge separation based on a nanocomposite containing MoO2 under visible light irradiation

Abstract

Plasmon-induced charge separation (PICS) has various applications based on plasmon-to-current conversion. Despite attempts to replace gold in PICS with cost-effective compounds, compound PICS has not been achieved under visible light. Here we prepared MoO2, which is plasmonic at ∼550 nm, and assembled solid-state cells showing a photocurrent peak at 550–600 nm.
