Recent advances in catalytic asymmetric [1,3]-rearrangement reactions

Abstract

Numerous elegant methodologies involving catalytic asymmetric [1,3]-rearrangement reactions have received increasing attention and gradually developed into significant synthetic tools in the past decades. These strategies provide novel ways for the synthesis of versatile organic building blocks and natural products. Hence, it is indispensable to succinctly present all such examples by means of disclosing the development of catalytic systems. This review mainly focuses on the recent breakthroughs involving catalytic asymmetric [1,3]-rearrangement processes in the last decade, which are sorted as transition metal catalysis, nucleophilic catalysis, Brønsted acid catalysis and Lewis acid catalysis. In addition, we present most of the reaction mechanisms and give insights to make the readers understand this exciting research field comprehensively and systematically.
