Janus Nanoparticles by Interfacial Engineering

Janus particles represent a unique class of nanoparticle materials with an asymmetrical structure, analogous to the dual-faced Roman god, Janus. In this chapter, a variety of methods are described for the preparation of these amphiphilic particles. Their important properties and applications are also highlighted with specific experimental examples. The chapter concludes with some perspectives on the research of functional patchy nanoparticles.
