In the course of the second year of COST Action TD0906 “Biological adhesives: from biology to biomimetics (http://www.cost‐bioadhesives.org)”, the 1^st International Conference on Biological and Biomimetic Adhesives was organised by the Management Committee Vice‐Chair, Romana Santos, and her team at the School of Dentistry of the University of Lisbon, Portugal. The event spanned from May 9^th to 11^th 2012 (Figure1), with the aim of bringing together researchers and manufacturers in the forefront of adhesion science and technology.
