Vibrational spectroscopic studies of catalytic processes on oxide surfaces

Spectroscopic tools are becoming more and more popular in the domain of heterogeneous catalysis. Especially when used in in situ and operando conditions, vibrational spectroscopies provide valuable information on the surface properties of solid materials, on active sites and reaction mechanisms. The present review, without having the ambition to be exhaustive, is aimed at presenting recent novelties of Raman and infrared applications in the investigation of selected reactions among the main catalytic industrial processes.
