Chemical Dynamics in Liquid Water and at Catalytic Surfaces

This chapter highlights recent studies of chemical dynamics involving bond formation and breaking or rearrangement using X-rays from free electron lasers (FELs). Here, we present specific examples at the catalytic surface and in liquid water; in particular, the bond breaking and formation dynamics in the catalysis on a metal surface, as well as the structural and hydrogen bond rearrangement dynamics in the liquid water phase diagram.
