The present chapter deals with the kinetic analysis of oxygen transfer reactions catalyzed by enzymes as well as artificial model compounds. The different types of treatments in gaining kinetic parameters are described and discussed in detail. Literature known rate constants and Michaelis–Menten constants are summarized, explained in their meaning and compared in dependence on substrates and enzymes. Furthermore, a new analytic solution is presented for the calculation of time-dependent product formation or substrate consumption using experimentally accessible half-reaction second-order rate constants.
