Self-organization in Coordination-driven Self-assembled Metallomacrocyles

Due to its high selectivity and fidelity, self-organization has proven to be an efficient way of spontaneously constructing well-defined supramolecular structures from multicomponent mixtures, thus yielding programmed systems with high complexity. Based on such concepts, numerous synthetic self-organization systems have to date been explored in the construction of two-dimensional metallomacrocycles. Three types of self-organization systems classified by the number of starting building blocks, i.e. two-component, three-component, and multicomponent self-organization systems, are discussed in this chapter.
