Bioluminescence

Bioluminescence is the natural world's analogue of chemiluminescence. Light emission by flora and fauna occurs throughout nature, most particularly amongst the creatures living in the oceans. This chapter will focus on the chemistry of the phenomenon as a basis for a survey of its technological applications.
