Biobased biodegradable polyurethane-based packaging materials are very useful to address the drawbacks of conventional non-biodegradable petroleum-based analogs. In this chapter, the basic concept, importance, and significance of biobased packaging materials are highlighted. A note is presented on the history of packaging materials. The methods of testing and analysis of packaging materials are described herein. The important properties of packaging materials and their valuable applications are also discussed. Concluding remarks, including future trends on the topic, are highlighted at the end of this chapter.
