Oxidative Electrochemical Addition of Cyclic 1,3-Dicarbonyls to Alkenes
Abstract
An electrochemical radical reaction between cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyls and alkenes is reported herein to give di- and tricyclic dihydrofuran derivatives. This methodolgy proceeds via a direct oxidative addition/cyclization sequence without the requirement of catalyst or exogeneous oxidant, and with hydrogen as the sole by-product.
