Chelate ligand driven structural diversity and modeling studies on phenoxazinone synthase-like activity of cobalt (III) complexes

Abstract

Two Co(III) complexes [Co(L1)(NCS)(H2O)] (1) and [Co2(L2)2(µ1,1-OMe)2(NCS)2] (2) have been prepared as model compounds to study biomimetic catalytic activity of phenoxazinone synthase metalloenzyme. Presence of available coordination sites in a flexible frame work makes complex 1 more prone towards a model catalyst than compound 2 with rigid dinuclear cobalt(III) units.
