Two approaches to phosphaniminocarbyne complexes
Abstract
The first phosphaniminocarbyne complexes [W(
CN
PPh3)(CO)2(Tp*)] (Tp* = tris(dimethylpyrazolyl)borate) and trans-[W(
CN
PPh3)Br(CO)4] arise from the reactions of the fluorocarbyne [W(
CF)(CO)2(Tp*)] with Me3SiN
PPh3 and of Na[W(CN)(CO)5] with Ph3PBr2. The C–N–P linkage in [W(
CN
PPh3)(CO)2(Tp*)] is bent in contrast to linear iminocarbynes LnM
CN
CR2 but shows negligible nucleophilicity at nitrogen.
