Gold-based multimetallic catalysis
Abstract
Multimetallic catalysis has emerged as a powerful strategy in modern organic synthesis, offering access to reaction pathways and selectivity patterns that are unattainable with a single-metal catalyst. Within this landscape, gold-based multimetallic catalysis has gained increasing prominence owing to the unique π-activation and redox properties of gold that forge non-trivial carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bonds. This review provides up-to-date developments in gold-based multimetallic catalysis with particular emphasis on the mechanistic aspects. By providing a comprehensive outlook, this review highlights the potential of gold-based multimetallic catalysis for achieving new organic transformations.
