Second-harmonic generation responses in low-dimensional metal bromides functionalized with L-arginine

Abstract

Three new metal bromides functionalized with L-arginine were synthesized via a solvent evaporation approach. These compounds have different low-dimensional structures, all of which exhibit second-harmonic generation (SHG) activity. Density functional theory calculations were performed to unravel the origin of the SHG response of the as-synthesized lead bromide.
