Electronic metal-support interaction boosts electrochemiluminescence by improving the catalytic activity of palladium
Abstract
The electronic metal-support interaction (EMSI) modulates electronic structure and activity of catalysts, yet its role in electrochemiluminescence (ECL) remains unclear. Using graphenesupported Pd nanoparticles, we show that EMSI downshifts Pd's dband center and that charge transfer between Pd and graphene facilitates both luminol oxidation and H₂O₂ decomposition, significantly enhancing the ECL signal.
