Structure-encoded anion inclusion in siloxane-based hybrid cages derived from stereoregular cyclic tetrasiloxanes

Abstract

In this study, a cage-like compound, CyTS-U-CyTS, was prepared via urea-linked dimerisation of aminopropyl-functionalised all-cis cyclic tetrasiloxanes. Single-crystal X-ray analysis confirmed its structure. CyTS-U-CyTS exhibited the ability to include anions, accommodating anionic species derived from tetrabutylammonium chloride and bromide within its internal cavity.
