Electrodeposited Ni₃Fe alloy on carbon cloth for efficient oxygen evolution

Abstract

This study fabricated a Ni₃Fe/CC alloy via electrodeposition. In situ surface reconstruction generates highly active NiOOH and FeOOH, endowing the catalyst with a low overpotential of 234 mV, a Tafel slope of 53.88 mV dec⁻¹, superior durability over 500 h, and prominent chloride tolerance in simulated seawater. This alloying strategy provides a facile pathway to develop Ni-based catalysts toward green hydrogen production.
