Precisely Tailoring d-Band Center of Pt via Metal-Semiconductor Interaction for C1 Small Molecule Electrooxidation

Abstract

Modulating the Pt d-band center via metal–semiconductor interaction on non-stoichiometric Bi2Te3 unlocks efficient C1 electrooxidation. The optimized catalyst shows mass activities of 11.0 A mgPt⁻1/12.7 A mgPt⁻1 for FAOR/MOR, which are 22 and 9.8 times those of commercial Pt/C, respectively, and a CO-free complete oxidation direct pathway.
