Intramolecular Oxidative C(sp3)-N Coupling Towards Pyrrolidine and Piperidine with Catalytic Amount of Iodoform

Abstract

We reported herein an oxidative intramolecular C(sp3)-N bond coupling reaction for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles with a catalytic amount of iodoform under the visible-light irradiation conditions, providing a novel and general procedure to access nitrogen-atom containing heterocycles. Both pyrrolidine and piperidine derivatives were accessible under the present iodine atom catalysis conditions.
