Photochemical Chloro-Sulfoximidation of Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes with Sulfonimidoyl Chlorides

Abstract

Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes (BCPs) and sulfoximines are versatile bioisosteres in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. However, direct synthetic methods for accessing disubstituted BCP sulfoximines remain limited. Herein, we report a general platform that addresses this challenge by enabling sulfonimidoyl chlorides to participate in photochemical coupling reactions with [1.1.1]propellanes, thereby providing efficient access to sulfoximine-BCP chloro hybrid bioisosteres.
