Deoxygenative Radical Addition of Aryl Carboxylic Acids to Alkenes with Phosphine in a Two-molecule Photoredox System

Abstract

We report a two-molecule photoredox system enabling deoxygenative radical addition of aryl carboxylic acids to electrondeficient alkenes under mild conditions. Cooperative action of an organic photocatalyst and a phosphine facilitates acyl radical generation and efficient carbon-carbon bond formation without metal reagents.
