Photocatalysts encapsulation and amidation-mediated cell anchoring for advancing photosynthetic biohybrids
Abstract
We present a covalent amidation strategy for assembing biohybrids from CdS@SiO₂ core-shell spheres and microorganisms. Encapsulation CdS within SiO₂ layer significantly reduces cellular damage, while amidation creates robust bio-abiotic interfaces for efficient electron/mass transfer. This enhances biocompatibility and improves the H₂ or CH₄ production of the biohybrid systems.
