Dual-control adsorption in hierarchical USY zeolites: orchestrating porosity and hydrophobicity
Abstract
USY zeolites with tailored silica-to-alumina ratios (SAR = 5–120) were prepared via steam-acid leaching. Increasing SAR concurrently generates hierarchical mesoporosity and shifts the framework from hydrophilic to hydrophobic. This work establishes a dual-control adsorption mechanism, providing a rational design blueprint for FAU-type zeolites in VOC molecular separation and capture.
