Lattice-constant engineering of RuO2 via Gd incorporation for for active and stable water splitting

Abstract

Efficient PEMWE requires OER catalysts with high activity and stability. By tuning RuO2 lattice constants via Gd doping, Ru-O covalency is optimized. Gd0.08Ru0.92O2 shows low overpotential, excellent durability, suppressed LOM pathways, and mitigated Ru dissolution, enabling robust high-performance water electrolysis.
