Sacrificially Formed Nitrogen-Rich CEI from DMI Additive Enhances Reaction Kinetics in Sodium-Ion Batteries
Abstract
We propose 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone (DMI) as a novel electrolyte additive. It enhances cycling stability (105.5 mAh g-1 after 200 cycles) and rate capability (99.7 mAh g-1 after 450 cycles at 5C) in Na3V2(PO4)3 (NVP) cathodes. DMI preferentially oxidizes to form a protective cathode film, as confirmed by combined analyses.
