Solvent mediated hierarchically porous NiCo-LDH decorated with Au nanoparticles for catalytic platforms

Abstract

Ni–Co layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were synthesized via an ethyleneglycol-assisted sol–gel method, forming near-spherical structures with highly accessible surface layers. Uniformly deposited Au nanoparticles further enhanced electron transfer, resulting in a hierarchical hybrid catalyst with strong activity for 4-nitrophenol reduction and excellent potential as an efficient catalytic platform.
