Defective TiOx spontaneously triggers the hydrogenation activity of silver
Abstract
The reactive metal–support interaction (RMSI) between Ag and defective TiOx spontaneously triggers the selective silver-catalyzed hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate to methyl glycolate, enabling a >5-fold increase in TOF without prereduction. Importantly, TiOx confers remarkable oxidation resistance to the metallic Ag phase.
