Fullerene–porphyrin nanosheets as an efficient catalyst enable solar-light-driven ammonia synthesis

Abstract

Photocatalytic nitrogen fixation is an excellent route for the utilization of clean energy. We have designed a SA–CoTPP–C60 nanosheet with efficient charge separation and transmission properties in solar irradiation. Notably, the production rate of NH3 is 285 µmol g−1 h−1 (AM 1.5) only in H2O. It is of great importance in developing new types of photocatalytic N2 fixation materials.
