Turn-on ratiometric Ag+ sensing aids in situ synthesis of NIR emissive silver nanoclusters
Abstract
The donor–acceptor probe based on N-ethylcarbazole and thiobarbituric acid senses Ag+ ions through turn-on, ratiometric fluorescence, and the binding results in the reduction of Ag+ into luminescent silver nanoclusters. The nanoclusters have tunable emission in the visible-NIR region and can be formed in situ, without requiring additional reducing agents.
