A portable fiber-optic sensor based on UiO66-lucigenin complex for chloride ion concentration measurement

Abstract

Detecting the concentration of chloride ions in water and soil is of great significance for understanding chloride behavior in the ocean and monitoring environmental pollutants. A novel fluorescent chloride ion optical fiber sensor has been developed based on UiO-66-lucigenin complex, in which UiO-66 enhances the photostability of the fluorescent probe lucigenin and facilitates the adsorption of chloride ions. UiO-66-lucigenin complex were encapsulated in cellulose acetate through the physical embedding method to form a chloride ion sensitive fluorescence probe. This portable optical fiber sensor is capable of detecting chloride ions in both water and soil environments simultaneously with high sensitivity, excellent stability, rapid response time and resistance to ion interference. These features make it a promising tool for chloride ion detection in complex environmental conditions. Looking ahead, this sensor holds broad application prospects for detecting chloride ions in complex environments.
