Hierarchically structured polyamide/cellulose acetate/UiO-66 hybrid membrane constructed via non-solvent induced phase separation/coaxial electrospray-interfacial polymerization for desalination

Abstract

A robust polyamide/cellulose acetate/UiO-66 hybrid membrane was developed using combined non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) and coaxial electrospray-interfacial polymerization (IP). UiO-66 integration improved porosity, stability, and antifouling properties, achieving high desalination performance with salt rejection and excellent flux recovery rates, highlighting significant potential for sustainable seawater desalination.
