Biomimetic Fluoride-Coated Zinc Anodes: Pediatric Dentistry Inspires Stable Zinc Batteries
Abstract
Zn anodes face dendrite, hydrogen evolution reactions, and corrosion issues. Inspired by the pediatric dental practice of fluoride varnish application for caries prevention, a biomimetic nano-fluoride coating was developed to isolate the Zn anode from the corrosive zinc salt solution, which significantly enhances efficiency and lifespan of aqueous Zn-ion batteries.
