Recent advances in the chemistry of α-oxylboronate reagents

Abstract

Organoboron compounds are a class of significant building blocks in synthetic chemistry, due to their powerful transformation ability of C–B bonds. As a special type of organoboronate, α-oxylboronates possess geminal hydroxyl and boryl functionalities, both of which are highly valuable for their transformations, making them versatile reagents for chemical synthesis. In this review, we mainly discuss the synthesis and transformation of α-oxylboronates, especially the transformations of their C–B and C–O bonds.
