Ag3PO4/UiO-66-NH2@PET for light-responsive desorption toward sulfamethoxazole

Abstract

Waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics were used as supports to fabricate Ag3PO4/UiO-66-NH2@PET (PAU-X) for adsorption and light-responsive desorption of sulfamethoxazole (SMX). PAU-X can capture SMX in the dark and desorb SMX under visible light. The breakage of the Ag-N bond between Ag3PO4 and SMX was the main mechanism of the desorption process.
