Intermolecular π-stacking stabilization of a new high-M/L-ratio coordination motif for a dinuclear Fe(iii) complex supported by a “salen-type” Schiff base derivative of o-xylylenediamine†
Abstract
Control over the self-assembly of cluster complexes is of high importance. In this respect, intermolecular noncovalent interactions play a crucial role. An unprecedented dinuclear Fe(III) complex, supported by an o-xylylenediamine Schiff base derivative and stabilized by intermolecular π-stacking is reported, paving a way for designing new functional 3d metal complexes.
